Outdoor Track & Field Team

About the Team

The Springville High School outdoor track and field team competes in this spring sport that combines individual and team competition across a variety of running, jumping, and throwing events. It offers athletes the chance to showcase their speed, endurance, strength, and technical skills in events divided into sprints, distance runs, hurdles, relays, jumps, and throws.

Key events include:

  • Running Events: Sprints (100m, 200m, 400m), middle-distance (800m, 1600m), long-distance (3200m), hurdles (e.g., 100m/110m and 300m), and team relays.
  • Field Events: High jump, long jump, triple jump, pole vault, shot put, discus, and sometimes javelin or hammer throw.

Competitions, known as meets, take place on an oval track with adjacent areas for field events. Athletes can earn points for their teams based on their performance, with team success determined by overall points scored.

Track and field promotes athletic diversity, teamwork, and personal growth, offering something for every type of athlete, from sprinters to endurance runners to jumpers and throwers.
